Kaia Bell

Sex, history, and erotica with a touch of deeply felt kink.

I have two publications to separate my fiction from my nonfiction: Erotica (for erotic fiction) and Actaeon (essays on sex in history, art, and culture).

I’ve been asked a few times if I write from experience. The answer is yes, though I don’t know if that makes a difference. I’ll say this: I’m fiercely protective of kink, erotic imagination, and sexual freedom. Sex, at its best, requires vulnerability—I’m protective of that, too. I don’t think judgment has any place in the bedroom and I think transgressive fantasies can be liberating.

I guess I’m being vague. I tend to be vague when I talk about myself.
